Last week I had the opportunity to get out and about to visit a number of farms across NSW. Over the week I travelled around 2000 km to meet with farmers looking to improve their soil health.
As a Soil Health Coach, I love meeting people beginning their soil health journey, or those who are more advanced and looking for opportunities to take that next step.
I travelled with Darren Falconer and Jess from the Best Farming Systems team who are always up to date with the latest in healthy soil management practices, it is great to work with such a committed group of people. Best Farming Systems is a wholistic approach to activating the biology in your soil, which in turn reduces the costs of pesticides, fungicides and fertiliser, leading to healthier soils and healthier profits.
The week provided some great opportunities to meet farmers across a diverse range of landscapes and soil types, all with different issues. Each system and every farm is unique which makes my job so interesting, developing programs to help everyone on their soil health journey is a rewarding role.
